Works smoothly, Pioneer DEH-4200UB Car Audio, Good radio for the buck, works smoothly and sounds decent. The programming requires a good study of the book, but once you get used to it everything works nicely.

The only thing I was disappointed by was that the unit didn’t come with a case for the head unit as they used to – gotta buy that separate.

Fantastic headunit – Easy to install, painless to use, and it sounds great!, Like one of the other reviewers, I don’t often post feedback, but I’m so impressed by this unit that I felt obligated to do so.

After having miserable experiences with two other headunits (one died on me, and the next one wouldn’t come close to installing correctly), I finally scored this Kenwood gem. First off, the install couldn’t have been easier. I’m not a professional, but rather an electronics geek with an interest in cars and an intermediate ability to perform DIY work. That said, the Kenwood unit fit perfectly, was easy and straightforward to wire, and didn’t present any issues whatsoever. The hardware that came with this unit was more than adequate — different types of mounting screws and a wiring harness (which had colors that lined up perfectly with my Subaru Forester’s stock harness).

The unit is also pretty simple to use. Like most basic single-DIN headunits, it doesn’t exactly provide the ease of navigation that you’d get from a larger touch screen. Nevertheless, navigation through the various menus is satisfactory.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the Kenwood KDC MP345U Car Stereo is the unexpectedly fantastic audio quality! (In addition to the headunit, I have two 50watt RMS aftermarket speakers powered by a 100watt amplifier.) My last working headunit, a Sony, sounded just fine. But the difference between the Sony and the Kenwood unit became evident after only 30 seconds of sampling a song! I have an extensive background in music recording, so I’m quite familiar with nuances in EQ changes and tonal qualities. I must say, the Kenwood blew me away! I’m convinced that even a listener without professional music experience would detect a difference in quality between the Kenwood and the Sony. Needless to say, I’m thrilled about how great it sounds!

Job well done, Kenwood KDC-MP345U Car Stereo. This is my first product from them, and I’m hooked. In the future, I’ll definitely go out of my way to purchase Kenwood products when I need new audio equipment. Highly recommended.

Very Satisfied, Bought this item for it’s ipod capabilities and it works great. It controls the ipod 160gb classic right from the radio using the usb port. It also charges the ipod as well. The only drawback I have found with the unit is that the tone controls only add or subtract 8db for the bass, mid, and treble. The unit it replaces used to add 12db.

superb money saving excellent appliance, I usually don’t do reviews, but I am so happy with this purchase I had to. I searched around for an entire month trying to find the right receiver. I think that for the money this product is hands down a total score! It has an aux and a usb. Now, when I purchased this I was thinking on using the ipod with the aux input originally. While the usb port can be used for direct Ipod connection and memory stick media (memory stick media?!) I figured I’d only use it to charge my ipod once the bat was running low. I have heard such bad things about ipod/usb functionality in radio receivers that I never thought I would actually use it. I love my ipod, and with the 32,000+ songs I have on there, being able to quickly scroll to what I want is essential, and its pretty hard to keep track of the new stuff I put on because I don’t have enough time in the day to listen to all the songs, so I do a lot of rating. trying to scroll through quickly using any receiver search button seemed like a joke and you can’t rate songs when you can’t use the ipods native click wheel. But i digress. The point is I looked in the manual and found “hands-on/hands/off”. With the ipod plugged into the usb port on the receiver I can hit 1 and 3 on the radio and switch between the modes. Now I can use the benefits of the usb port (charging, quality sound) AAAAND use my ipods native clickwheel functionality at the same time. I don’t even use the aux anymore! and whenever I decide I want to listen to the ipod on random i just push button 1 on the radio and my artist/album scroll across the screen and I am still happy. The only thing so far that is negative are:
1.the screen during the day is almost impossible to see with sunlight on it. it just looks pink.
2.when using the awesome usb mode i quickly mentioned up top…..for the first 30 seconds in either hands-on/hands-off mode you get a little song distortion because it is loading up i guess. Like i said i have over 30,000 songs and if i get 2 noise interruptions for a second a piece for the first 30 seconds of run-time and thats it, i’d say this is an outstanding product for all who love using there ipods in the car! buy it. u will be very happy. also, I have 4 polk audio db and they sound outstanding with all but a tiny fragment of songs in the hip-hop genre.

Two particular features make this frame worth it., Bought this frame recently after looking quite extensively for one with an Internal Battery and here it is. Admittedly, when fully charged you’ll only get around 2 or 3 hours in cordless mode. It’s just about long enough to allow the frame more portability when I’m playing a slideshow and wish to leave it in a position where I can forget about having the big long power cable hanging out the back for a while at least. That’s the first and best thing I like with this frame.

The second feature I was delighted by were the touch sensitive controls that light up in a cool blue when you touch them, then disappear after a few seconds. This is nothing ground-breaking by any means, yet they function effectively by just a smooth touch with the finger or thumb.

Other little surprises were that the Internal Memory is quite generous at 2GB and that the stand for the back of the frame is detachable, allowing you to twist it into either portrait or landscape position and adjust the height all very easily. Oh yes, and when you do change the orientation of the frame, the motion sensor turns the picture with it to the correct position.

My slight disappointments were that I can’t play music files with the slideshow, just pictures on their own. Also, there is no video capability. However, I suppose after all, I bought it to view my pictures, so I can’t grumble as the image quality is most impressive.

Most Useful Wedding Present, I’m getting married soon and this frame was sent to me as a gift from a buddy. We were planning on using it after the honeymoon, but after a chat with the wedding photographer we’ve decided to have it setup at the wedding. The photographer is going to load photos that he’s taken as the day goes on so people can have a look. Especially as only half the guests are invited to the church service so it will be nice for the later arrivals to see what had been happening before they arrived.

Though I’ve not used the frame extensively I did give it a good going over with the wedding photographer and he seemed impressed. As the frame is easy and quick to use I’m hoping that the wedding guests will just upload their own videos and photos they’ve taken as the day goes on too!

The frame feels quite sturdy which is helpful as you don’t realize how big a 12 inch screen is until you get it out of the box.

Great Frame, This is my first digital frame and I must have read a million reviews. I had a question about this frame before I bought it. I emailed Nix and had an answer the next day. I bought this, received it quickly and it was amazingly easy to use. The picture quality is great, I love the fact that you can carry it with you without having to plug it in. I just downloaded some avi videos to it and they play great. I had a question after I got the frame (they have a black and white effect in the random effects mode and I thought it was a problem, it’s not). Again, I emailed Nix and they got back to me right away. In this day and age of begging anyone with a company to help, that was just wonderful. I am very pleased with this purchase, would highly recommend it to anyone.

Outstanding Quality and Intuitive Design, I bought this model through the UK amazon when living in London, great to see them here now in the US. Great gift!, Got this as a gift for my parents who are not technologically inclined. They don’t have a digital camera, they don’t use computers. But they love the photos of their granddaughter more than anything else I send them. So, rather than constantly printing out tons of photos which cover every nightstand in their home, we decided to get them a digital picture frame for the holidays. The picture quality of this item is amazing! I’ve compared it to some of the frames I’ve seen in friends’ homes and it’s photo quality is comparable to the best, without costing as much as the bigger brands. The frame itself is sleek and integrates with most decors. The controls are located on the right side of the screen and when you touch them, they illuminate. When dormant, they fade to the black of the screen. The size of the screen is perfect — just large enough to show the fine details of group photos, but not too large to take over your dresser or mantel.

We loaded up all the photos and videos onto the frame before giving it as a gift. Using the frame is as simple as plugging it in, turning the on switch, and it automatically goes through a random slideshow of all the photos on the frame–this is exactly what I needed for my parents. Getting into the videos or music functions of the frame is a little tricker, but is not too complicated. And loading the photos onto the frame was as easy as plugging in the USB cable, and then dragging photos from My Photos folder over to copy in the Photo Frame folder.

My only wish is that the random slideshow is more random. It sometimes repeats the same photo every 10-15 frames or so.

The NIX X08A vs. the NIX X07B (and other 7″ frames), These NIX frames have really captured consumer interest in a hurry since being introduced on Amazon. Understandable, since they deliver a lot of features for a modest price (in fact, Amazon’s is lower than the manufacturer’s on a competitive website). Formerly, I recommended the even less expensive XO7B frame, but my preference now is decisively in favor of the X08A for one overriding reason: the 4:3 dimensions, which is not the case with the X07B (it would be helpful were it labeled as such). Even with auto rotation and split screen features, the extra wide (16:9) screens, or aspect ratios, of some of these “stretched” frames introduce problems because of the different orientations of shots and the cropped or distorted shapes that frequently ensue upon tweaking an image to fill a frame. But there’s more . . .

The picture of the 8″ model, I’m convinced, has sharper definition and brighter, more pleasing colors–very close, if not equal, to a high-definition computer screen. Additionally, the slide show and transitions are performing more consistently, with the photos even showing more regularly in their correct–horizontal or vertical–orientation. And the size of the frame is such that a vertical photo, even though appearing in a frame that’s slightly wider than it is high, does not look disproportionate. In fact, with this frame it’s highly unlikely you’ll turn the frame vertically to activate its “automatic orientation” feature. Finally, unlike the XO7B, which comes with a quick set-up sheet, the XO8A comes with a more informative and complete little booklet, including a trouble-shooting section (the instructions are perhaps less clear than those with the 7″ model, but the frame is practically “plug and play,” not requiring close examination of the manual. (If you do any tweaking, I’d recommend trying the automatic “crop” feature. It may reduce some of the area of your photos, but it won’t distort or diminish size, consequently making it all the easier to keep the frame in a single, fixed position. I’m so satisfied with what this frame does for the photos taken with my Canon Elf (SD-780), I haven’t even bothered to try out the video and music features. Frankly, they’re not the reason I was in the market for a digital frame.

For either frame, it would undoubtedly be a good idea for many purchasers to order an inexpensive 2 GB flash card at the same time and to “dedicate” it exclusively for use in the frame (try to avoid the apparent “bundled” deal, which could cost you extra in postage. Instead, enter the item in “search” and order it from Amazon Prime, which offers a nice Kingston card for about five dollars). Finally, before calling or writing the company about a missing back-rest for this frame, notice that, unlike the 7″ model (which employs a separate, detachable plastic piece), this 8″ model has a handier, embedded telescoping silver rod. Simply use your thumbnail to pull it out of the back of the frame and you’ll find it plenty sturdy for this lightweight frame.

Just a couple of caveats: First, the generally well-equipped audiophile is unlikely to make much use (if any) of the built in speakers and MP3 player (the X07 has a potentially more useful alarm, clock and calendar). Second, the cost to the company of these added, perhaps mostly unused, features is likely reflected in the price. In that case, better the extra features were eliminated altogether or their expense devoted to the one feature that every user would certainly find most useful of all–a rechargeable battery, enabling cordless operation. These frames are currently undergoing rapid changes on the part of all manufacturers, so expect to see more cordless models, more onboard memory with convenient computer interfacing, and lower prices in the near future. But as anyone who has acquired any consumer technology in the last ten years knows all too well, such obsolescence goes with the territory (no longer is it a wise idea to spend a thousand or more on a TV set–these are not appreciating assets–in fact, quite to the contrary).

RE: NIX Customer Support: I sent an e-mail with questions related to this model as well as a couple of others. The response was swift, extremely detailed, entirely personal (not an automated response), and very informative and helpful. (By contrast, Logitech offered to replace an entire keyboard with a bad key providing I e-mailed proof of purchase. I was extremely impressed and pleased, since I had hoped for, at most, a single replacement key. However, despite my 3 attempts to mail them my Amazon invoice–everything from a Jpeg to PDF to screen shot–I received the automatic response: “Your requested evidence of purchase is inadequate. Use a different format.” If that’s a company’s version of “customer service,” I’d rather receive service from another company, or no service at all, rather that repeatedly feel like someone is jerking my chain.)]

Super Value and Crisp Image Toooo!, Quite simple really, if you want a straight forward frame that works straight out of the box and does the following:

-Crisp hi-res image
-Plays photo, video and sound/music
-Can play your photos in random order
-looks good
-very very easy to use

then this frame ticks the boxes. I really like the split screen function as well (well actually my daughter does). I also like that the stand folds away back inside the frame so you can’t lose it. I would write a more detailed review, but the frame seems quite straight forward as advertised so need for many words.

great little frame with a few extras, i got this for a friend and was pleased that she was pleased! didn’t wanna spend too much so went for this frame. These more basic models don’t have too many features, but i do like the multishow, splitscreen and random display seemed quite cool. I think in a large room the images made smaller by the mutishow and splitscreen might not work so well, but mary has hers on her desk so the effect works well. easy to use, not much more to say really

Price breakthrough, but it may be best to spend just a few bucks more., I was duly warned about the limited usage of digital frames by many of their owners so I looked for the least expensive model available. This one is a smartly packaged, even fairly classy, model. It comes with a quick set-up sheet instead of an instruction “manual,” and in no more than five minutes I was watching slide shows of pictures from my Canon Elf’s SD card. The included remote control is ready to go out of the box, no battery installation required. Soon, however, I found the “crispness” and color of the images lacking, and the wide-angle of this frame (dimensions are about 16 x 9) made it virtually impossible to view vertically-oriented images without tipping the frame lengthwise.

The solution? The NIXX X08A has a sharper, back-lit, high-resolution picture that does justice by my Canon Elf photos (SD-780). Moreover, its dimensions are 4:3, which makes it very satisfying for viewing either horizontally-oriented or vertically-oriented images with the frame remaining in the same position. Moreover, the NIX X-8A,(NIX X08A) has the frame back-up stand built inconspicuously into the frame. Simply pull it out, and you’re all set. After comparing these two NIX frames (NIX X07B,NIXX07B and NIX X08A,NIXX08A) I strongly recommend spending the little bit extra for the NIX X08A.

As for all of the extras–clocks, calendars, videos (an advertised capability of the X08A), and MP3 audio playback capability (again, the X08A), if you have the time, use it. I’m content to simply go with the images.

All of these frames are constantly undergoing technological improvements and price drops. The most desirable feature to look out for would be cordless operation (rechargeable battery). Also, neither of the aforementioned frames has built-in storage space, so regardless of which one you order, I’d recommend picking up an inexpensive (five bucks) Kingston 2GB SD card at the same time.

NIX customer service is as good as any I’ve ever experienced. Send them an e-mail and they’ll respond practically immediately, answering all of your questions and then some. At its current price, the NIX X07B may be the best deal among all Amazon frames. But the NIX X08 has got to be the best value.

Fantastic picture viewer and more, Gave this to my husband for his birthday. He loves it and gets lots of compliments on it. He loaded tons of photos and music. The music will play while you are watching a slide show. You can even set a timer so it goes off or comes on when you want it to. You can even load recipes on it and view them while cooking. The touch screen is very cool.

squares on picture, The frame is great… easy to use, no problems downloading pictures, has cool segues between pictures during slide show, the larger frame on the 8inch pictures really gives the perception of enlarging the picture and makes a nice display for a living room setting, sharp colors and very clear picture, does not crop or distort the pictures, automatically fits the pictures perfectly, controls very user friendly, some nice “extras”.

My question to anyone who has this and my only complaint… there are “squares” on the picture, hard to describe, large digital looking clear squares on the glass. They don’t alter the picture, and not real easy to see especially from a distance, but they are noticable. Does anyone else who has this frame also have these squares or do I have a defective frame??

Very happy so far with Pandigital Clear Model 8051, The model number of my item differs slightly from what is here – possibly because I purchased it at a warehouse club – but appears to be the same specifications. With a coupon, I paid ~ 30% less than the price listed here.

I read a number of Amazon reviews on Pandigital products before purchasing and decided to proceed because the bulk of the negative reviews seemed to be a couple of years old and the newer ones were more positive.

I’ve had it less than a week but, so far, it has met all of my needs for ease of use, quality, color, etc. I have so far used a USB stick (all photos on the stick) and an SD card (selected images only) to load pictures onto the frame and both went very smoothly. I intend later today to load more photos and MP3s from an external hard drive via the mini USB jack but based on my experiences so far do not anticipate any issues. Deleting the pre-loaded images was easy, changing the mat was easy, learning the interface was easy (though I did use the manual). The wood frame feels and looks high quality and looks beautiful with my living room furniture.

The only reasons I have not given this produce a “5″ are: 1) I haven’t yet been able to figure out how to remove the recipes – I would prefer to use this portion of internal memory for additional pictures and 2) I haven’t been able to discern yet how to make permanent my edits to the portion of a zoomed photo that is viewed. Of course, I can fix that problem by making the edits on my computer before importing.

In a perfect world, I’d like to see the ability to monitor how much of the internal memory is being used (as you can do on your computer, for example).

I would recommend this product to friends and would not hesitate to purchase additional products of this brand.
