Very Good product, It seem like very good product. I bought it and installed it for my little sister so I haven’t used it since then, but she’s extremely happy with it.

What I like about it is the front USB and it allows you to adjust your bass, tremble AND mids, unlike my cheap radio (someone broke into my car and stole the nice one I use to have). Plus, it also outputs 22 RMS, most receivers seem to only output 18 rms or less.

The sound quality is decent. My sister has stock speakers so I imagine its a lot better than decent since the previous radio she had was a Panasonic which the Pioneer seems to blow away according to her, but again with stock speakers its hard to tell, especially with very old stock speakers.

Note: When your adjusting your receiver use the remote control, I found it to be extremely easy using the remote control, usually I find it easier the other way around.

Best Receiver for the Price!, WOW is all that I can say about this unit. For under 300 bucks this is probably the nicest head unit that you can buy. The NAV worked great out of the box and a quick update with the included USB cable made pairing this with my iPhone via bluetooth awesome. The unit is supposed to fit in a 2010 WRX sedan but I had to make some adjustments to the dash-kit in order to get it to fit. That’s how it goes with car audio though, and it looks and sounds great. The receiver offers great Navigation reception and I wired the antenna inside to the back of my car. It is powering 4 Polk Audio db 651s 6-1/2″ Slim 2-way Speakers and they sound awesome. The harness was very easy to setup and only took a few minutes to assemble. The mic works really well and the call quality is very good, I placed my mic on the steering wheel and have had no complaints. For the price you cannot go wrong, just make sure that it fits in your car. If you do not have experience installing receivers, you may find yourself frustrated when the dash-kit does not work as advertised due to the large trim on this receiver, but as I always say, there is nothing a Dremel can’t fix! The extra trim actually makes the unit look wicked slick with a custom dash-kit job. Thanks to Amazon for the fast shipping and best price out there! One last thing, if you are going to hook up your iPod or iPhone don’t bother with the adapter, any iPod cable will work.

1. Great Navigation Tool
-Turn by turn directions spoken over speakers
-Screen automatically zooms to show turns
-Screen shows when you need to merge onto different ramps or overpasses on the highway using a highway view mode. Very cool!
2. Ipod control is seamless
-Gives you ALL music functions you normally have on your ipod
-Gives you the ability to sort by artist and album
3. Bluetooth works very well with my palm pre and my wifes samsung
-Microphone sounds good and cancels ALL echo
4. Good control of factory speakers
-I was thinking about installing aftermarket speakers in 2003 Tahoe stock stereo system. No need! Major base and treble boost from this system
5. AM/FM Radio and XM Radio
-Gives you 15 presets for radio stations, and 15 presets for XM radio. Yes, that’s 30 presets in all!
-Gives you the same screen options on any GOOD aftermarket XM radio receiver. Meaning you can see artists, albums, ect.
6. When you use CD’s from itunes you can see Artist and Album name on screen.
7. The faceplate is detachable so you can program addresses inside your home running off its built in battery (the GPS unit is in the radio, not the faceplate)
-Great for deterring theft if parking you car for long periods of time!

Cons:
1. Only one. There are not any preloaded POI’s to speak of in the GPS. Not a problem for me since I get my addresses in advance for everything. If you really want them, you can also buy them from Pioneers website ($100).

My OPINION:
EXCELLENT PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE!!! You get everything the expensive units have for half the cost (bought on amazon for $314 including shipping) plain and simple! The screen is a little smaller, but who the hell cares when it works this well for this price! I am VERY satisfied. Good shopping!

Great System. Cheap Money!, I read all the reviews on this product before I decided to buy it. I was sort of apprehensive. However, I am extremely pleased with the product. From what some people had said, I thought that the GPS wouldn’t work at all. To be honest, on my boyfriend’s GPS, we never used POI’s so it is not something that I miss. I think that it is really accurate and I haven’t gotten bad directions at all.
I do not have the bluetooth set up, though I definitely want to.
My iPod works great with it and again easy to use.
All in all, I think this was a great buy. I see similar systems priced hundreds more. Insane, I feel like it is a steal.

Great radio, You can’t go wrong with a Sony. This radio does everything I wanted it to do, which was play my ipod. Least expensive one I could find on the market and it plays great. Extra bonus feature is when the ipod is playing my retractable antennae is down without needing to purchase an additional switch. Was $30 more at Best Buy, and $60 more at a car stereo place. Don’t forget the harness and dash kit necessary. Easy installation. No regrets.

Realistic Review of this Sony CDXGT340 (XGT340), Following instructions included to set up display, you can pretty much get what you desire, mine is set to display the clock now without the factory “demo” display. EQ displays too with station displayed. EQ settings can be customized besides having the described default settings and saved on a custom setting. On the Xplod factory EQ setting, this unit will blast you out with bass thump if you have a decent amped sub without adding +db. Max the +db out and your rattling screws loose and awaking the natives to a restless state from miles away. Yep, you read right, EQ settings are infinately adjustable to taste. The display is plenty bright for daytime viewing and dimable for night time. The FM gain pulls in the weakest channels with ease. The clarity of the sound is without any noticable distortion of any kind. The CD is skip free on wash board dirt roads and clear as a bell. The unit is backward compatible with the older XPlod series units, this one plugged right into the harness of the ‘94 unit that finally bit the dust in my ‘93 Civic. How simple is that? You can get a pre-wired factory harness extra to simplify installation for a true plug and play install to your factory wiring. You couldn’t get a better bang for your buck if you wanted to. Not to mention being digital ready??? For less than a C note???

5 Stars all the way!, I am very pleased with this Sony XGT340 Car Stereo! It works great, looks great,and sounds great,even on stock speakers. I love the blue on the face of it, it really looks nice. I also really enjoy all the functions of this player. It has bass,mid range,highs,sub,aux input, and they are all adjustable. It has built in hpf, and lpf adjustments too. What a great deal on it as well! It is worth every dollar. I have used Sony head units for over ten years, and they still impress me. This is all around a great player. I am very satisfied.
